Behind Kenopsia is Zeled, an artist from Barcelona. She started drawing to understand and channel what she was feeling, and over the years added disciplines and techniques to give shape to emotions and symbols that do not always fit into words. The clothing came later, as a surface.
Hence the house motto: MEET YOUR DEMONS. Not running from the dark but looking straight at it; accepting the contradictions, the wounds and the shadows as part of who you are. The work comes from what is felt and not only from reason, after a meaning that goes beyond the look of it.
Everything is one of one, commissions and very short drops, worked and painted by hand. The references are in plain sight: gothic imagery and symbolism, Japanese and Western horror, the underground scene, tattooing and graffiti, the depth psychology of Carl Jung, and texture — the kind found in nature and the industrial stains of urbex.
