SIMILAR CLUB designs the whole garment: cut and pattern as much as artwork. Being independent, for them, means making a piece because it has a reason to exist and not because the calendar says so. The world comes from nineties and early-2000s street culture — music from rock to hip-hop, film, street photography, graphic design — but not as nostalgia: what they take from it is a freer way of making things, closer to the culture that produced it. The name says it. SIMILAR is what we share; CLUB is where that meets. It was born against the idea of building an identity out of what sets us apart. It is not about everyone dressing the same, it is about recognising each other: we are not the same, we are particularly similar.
